Ron Berry's stories are those of a
proselytizer, bearing witness from inside his community, explaining,
celebrating and judging its myths, conventions, and constant evolution to a
querulous outside world.
His writing conveys the intersection of personal experience
with the larger historical moments and movements, and it does this in spare,
terse, caustic prose, often sardonic and crabbed, the idiolect of Rhondda Fawr.
